Project Details
The Art in School program, like the name suggests, brings art education to schools in and around Kathmandu. Schools invite the Srijanalaya team to create lesson plans on subjects they have a tough time with. We then create lesson plans, using art mediums to make learning creative, collaborative and effective.
In Lalitpur Madhyamik Vidhyalaya, Srijanalaya worked with grade 4 students. First, age-appropriate lesson plans were drafted in a way that ensured maximum participation of students. These lesson plans aimed to bring art education into lessons that would have normally been taught in a traditional, textbook manner. Srijanlaya’s Sharareh Bajracharya and Sunita Maharjan acted as facilitators and helped teachers implement the lessons plans in the classroom. The students had classes on fractions and simple machines, using various art mediums such as drawing, book-making, play-doh, and beads.
This edition of Art-in-School was supported by Fürst Foundation and Freundeskreis Tara for Children Germany.
