Achamma ko Jungle - A Children\'s play
A children's play performed by the team of Srijanalaya as they integrate various art forms in the process, including visual arts, dance, music, and poetry.
This story was performed at the first ArtWorks! Sangai Khelaun in Panchpokhari Thangpal, Sindhupalchowk in 2017. In this story we enter the magical world of a young boy, Nima, who follows his mother despite her warnings. In this forest of wonder (Achamma ko Jungle) Nima finds himself shrunk while the creatures are all magnified and larger than life. The story was conceptualized, directed and choreographed by Subima Shrestha. Rochak Dahal composed the words, and Nasala Chitrakar recited them. The music was composed and played by Kishan Shrestha, Agrim Lama, Sugam Deshar, and Merit Maharjan. The whole ArtWorks! Team was involved in this performance! The credits are below. Props and backdrops conceptualized and made by the students of Kathmandu University Department of Art and Design as part of their Art in Education course: James Khati, Wataru Shrestha, Siddhartha Shrestha, Priyanka Singh Maharjan, Rashmi Amatya, Shreeti Prajapati, Raju Shrestha, Bishal Yonjan, Arun Kumar Rai, Siddhant Rai, Saurav Shrestha, Dipak Lama, Suraj Subba Limbu, Dujaw Man Chitrakar, and Pal Yeden Sherpa ArtWorks! Sangai Khelaun is a collaborative project by Shikshya Foundation Nepal and Srijanalaya designed to inspire the use of the arts in schools and learning spaces. The project works to create bridges to reflect the diverse backgrounds, histories, desires, and worlds of marginalized children and their communities into learning spaces in Nepal.
